What is the Ownership Structure of ECAC?
ECAC is a privately owned and operated athletic club, a division of Telsec Property Corporation. Club management, in consultation with Telsec, will oversee all operational and strategic decisions.
What is the Membership structure at ECAC?
ECAC offers two membership options—Non-Equity and Equity—designed to match different levels of commitment and involvement.
Non-Equity Memberships are ideal for those ready to enjoy the Club for years to come, without taking on a shareholder role.
Equity Memberships are for individuals who want to deepen their investment in the Club and have the option participate in future Club governance as Shareholders. To read about ECAC’s Equity opportunity, click here.
The initiation fee rates as of June 2025 are as follows:
Category | Non-Equity Initiation | Equity Initiation |
Individual | $15,000 | $35,000 |
Spousal | $20,000 | $40,000 |
Family | $25,000 | $45,000 |
What is the Price and Payment Structure for Memberships?
The pricing structure of ECAC consists of a one-time Initiation Fee, and on-going Annual Dues.
Members are invited to pay their Initiation Fees in a lump sum or in installment payments, with 25% down, and the balance paid in five installments of 15%, interest free.
The Initiation Fee and Annual Dues vary based on your Membership category.
Current Initiation Pricing Structure:
Category | Non-Equity Initiation | Equity Initiation |
Individual | $15,000 | $35,000 |
Spousal | $20,000 | $40,000 |

- Spousal Member: $1,680
- Non-Dependent: $1,680 each

What Happens to My Initiation Fee if the Club Does Not Open?
Prospective members are asked to make a deposit when applying for Membership which serves to reserve their position. This deposit becomes non-refundable once a 10-day grace period, allowing for reconsideration, has passed. In the event that ECAC fails to open for any reason, the non-refundable deposit will be refunded. The viability of the Club is not reliant on membership initiation fees.

What is the Guest Policy?
Yes! Members are encouraged to introduce Guests to the Club during designated hours. All applicable Guest fees must be paid.
Guest Registration
Guests must be registered with Member Services before accessing any secure areas of the Club. Guests visiting only the Casual Dining Lounge are not required to register but may not access any other part of the Club—including the Golf Simulators—without registration and payment of Guest fees. Bypassing Guest registration or misrepresenting a Guest’s participation status is strictly prohibited.
Guest Limits and Special Circumstances
A maximum of four (4) Guests may be registered under a Primary Member’s Account at any one time. Larger groups require prior approval.

It is prohibited to use multiple Accounts to circumvent Guest limits; doing so will result in disciplinary action.
Groups larger than four Guests are only permitted at officially registered events.
- Guests may not participate in organized leagues but are welcome to join drop-in programming, provided they are accompanied by a Member and within their annual visit limit.
Is There Parking?
ECAC does not currently own parking in the downtown core and is unable to offer priority parking for Members at this time. However, Club Management is actively exploring multiple solutions to address this need.
What Will Be Included in Membership?
Membership at ECAC unlocks a wide portfolio of included experiences—like full access to our world-class facilities and a robust calendar of drop-in programming.
For members looking to go deeper, we also offer elevated services such as personal training, registered fitness and recreation programs, leagues, and private instruction—available at preferential member pricing.

What Programming Will You Offer?
All programming offered, for youth or otherwise, will be based on member demand.
ECAC will be offering legacy programming that former YMCA members loved, such as drop-in basketball and badminton, as well as a range of youth programming, such as golf, basketball, floor-hockey, and racquet sports, as well as swimming lessons. Our interactive mirrors in our fitness areas will serve as instruction terminals for our membership at no extra cost, however, as mentioned above, one on one programming as well as professional-run classes will be subject to additional fees.
Will the Club be Family Friendly?
ECAC is an upscale, downtown Club. While we are excited to offer families ample programming and amenities to support family interests such as swimming lessons, family fun room, sports programming, and more, given the location and offerings of the Club, ECAC will be predominantly an adult, professionally skewed membership.
What Will the Experience for Families Be?
At ECAC, we are cultivating an inclusive and safe environment where staff will know your children’s names, and your children will feel at home. Our goal is to foster a community where your family can thrive and create lasting memories.
In short, we understand that kids are kids, and we are excited to welcome all of their energy to our Club.

Will the Public Have Any Access to the Club?
ECAC is an exclusive, Members-only, private Club with no public access. Guests are permitted by invitation from an active Member.
How Many Members will ECAC Have?
Memberships will be capped at 3,500 Member Equivalents, which will equate to approximately 4,000-4,500 total users of the Club.
Equivalency References:

Will the Club Have Secure Bike/Golf Club Storage?
ECAC will offer members secure, self-serve, daily bike storage for no fee. Monthly valet bike and golf club storage will be offered for a fee as availability allows.

Will There Be Annual Locker Availability?
Annual locker rental will be available in both the Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms for an annual fee as capacity allows. Designated day-use lockers can be used in all four locker rooms at no charge. Annual lockers may be rented in the Family and Day Locker Rooms at request. A Primary Member Account is permitted a maximum of 1 Men’s and 1 Women’s locker.
Will the Club Have Any Reciprocal Agreements?
We have joined the International Club Association (IAC). With IAC clubs now spanning more than 40 countries, ECAC Members can enjoy a wide range of amenities worldwide. This includes access to over 60 golf courses, more than 100 clubs with athletic and sports facilities, and venues perfect for conferences or entertainment in most key cities during your business trips.
Domestically, your Membership grants you access to clubs like Hollyburn in Vancouver, the Kelowna Yacht Club in Kelowna, and the Toronto Athletic Club in Toronto.
Internationally, enjoy destinations such as Antognolla Golf in Antognolla, Italy, the Mallorca Country Club in Mallorca, Spain, and the Drivers & Business Club in Munich, Germany.
- When choosing a club to visit, please read the rules and regulations carefully to ensure a positive experience. Each club has its own unique culture—some may have strict dress codes, while others are more relaxed. Some clubs are adults-only, while others welcome guests under 18 on certain days and times. To ensure the club you visit aligns with your expectations, please familiarize yourself with their rules and regulations.
- While visiting these clubs, you represent your home club, ECAC. Misbehavior or unwillingness to follow the host club’s rules and regulations can jeopardize our reciprocal relationship. Please respect their house rules to maintain a positive connection for all ECAC members.
- Respecting the staff of other clubs is paramount. As their guest, Membership Teams will often go out of their way to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable visit. Treating them with kindness and respect will strengthen the camaraderie between our clubs, as Membership Teams at different clubs are often in close contact.
Will Corporate Members Be Eligible for Equity Memberships?
Corporate Members will be eligible for Equity opt-in, however the structure of this agreement has not yet been determined.
Can I Add Family Members to My Account in the Future?
If you have purchased a Family Membership, you are welcome to add Dependents in the future. If you have purchased a Spousal or Individual Membership, you are able to upgrade your membership to a Family Membership and add Dependents then. The addition of family members after a membership upgrade could be subject to a Wait List, should a Wait List be in effect.
How Strict Will the Dress Code Be?
While we expect Members to generally adhere to the dress code in effect, we have flexibility on what is determined to be casual wear. For instance, Members would not be prohibited from wearing golf shorts or chino shorts on the Social Floor, however, would be prohibited from wearing gym strip while visiting the restaurant.
Will There Be Fees or Costs for Amenities or Activities?
Yes, any personal services such as personal training sessions or private squash lessons will have fees. Registered programs, like golf leagues or swim lessons, will also have fees. Additionally, some fitness programming may incur fees.
Currently, we do not anticipate that amenities like the golf simulator will incur fees. However, we may implement a nominal booking fee (e.g., $10) to prevent overbooking and ensure optimal use of the space. Any costs associated with amenity use would be below market value.
How Will We Determine Programming?
Our programming will be driven by demand. Working closely with our Athletic Director, I will create a schedule pf programming based on member interests. Your participation and feedback will help us refine and expand our offerings seasonally to ensure they remain relevant and exciting.
What will Adult Programming look like?
Our Adult Programming will include a variety of options to meet diverse interests and fitness levels, including but not limited to:
- Fitness Programs: Including Cardio, Mind/Body, and Strength classes.
- Racquet Programming: Offering activities such as badminton, pickleball, and squash.
- Golf Programming: Including lessons and leagues.
- Masters Swim Programming: Structured swim sessions for adults.
- Social Programming: Engaging events and activities for socializing and community building.
